About this Cook
I'm married 18 yrs.,one son 16, one daughter 12. I've been a boy/girl scout leader for the past 10 yrs. I work full time as a certified nursing assistant in a local nursing home. My daughter is the resident mascot :). Those old people just love her. I'm also in year 4 of the pta and a karate mom.
My favorite things to cook
CHEESECAKE IS MY FAVORITE!!!!!!! I also like to experiment with N*R. My daughter is VERY allergic to eggs so baking and cooking are quite a challenge. Other faves are pierogie casserole, mac and cheese, tacos and beef(like this most ways).I also LOVE to make soup. Have at least 10 that I make alot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making 6 pumpkin pies from scratch every year (since I was born) the night before Thanksgiving, with my Nan. How I miss her. She taught me the joy of cooking. The marathon cookie sessions for Christmas. Thats from my mom. One year when I was a teen, we made 5,000 cookies to give away!!! And no that is not a typo. LOL. Now all the holiday meals are at my house.
My cooking triumphs
The first no egg cake that Andi actually liked!!! My first cheesecake I made for my new FIL's birthday-lemon cheesecake with chocolate covered strawberries. It took me 5 hours but it was worth it. Mastering a no egg meatloaf that everyone likes.
My cooking tragedies
All the stuff I burned while learning to cook when I first got married. Boy my husband is a good sport.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup
I love this soup. My personal changes are to brown the onions and I dont use the sherry. This in the only recipe I use. Thanks!! :)

Baby Back Ribs
I used the dry rub recipe by Denise. Rubbed it in, covered with foil, and left in fridge overnight. Next day followed these cooking directions. Last 30 mins I brushed on honey bbq sauce. The family raved about these ribs!!!
