I used to go to Nordstrom Cafe and get a Lemon Poppyseed scone all the time until I started to notice my pants were feeling a bit snug. I limited my scone consumption after that but now that I live in a place where there are no Nordstrom Cafe's I've undertaken the search for the perfect Lemon… MORE
The Lemon Scone recipe I just posted on my cooks profile. Yummy!

About this Cook
Married a few years with a new baby girl and continuing to increase my cooking tastes for foods that both my husband and I like. We're are probably the pickiest people you'll meet, which is why cooking is so important. We can customize recipes and make things to our liking. It's good stuff!
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, I love cookies! Oh, and Pies; I'm looking for the perfect recipe of cherry pie, like they sell back home at the local bakery.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Searching for new family favorites. We have several already. I can't wait til my daughters old enough that we can start cooking together like I do with my nephew and nieces.
My cooking triumphs
I like being able to take several different recipes and do the research on what I think would be good and take it all and combine it into a new recipe thats my own. I did that with my husbands strawberry banana crepes that they make at bob evans, he loved them but they moved out of our town so he can't get them anymore. They have this special sauce inside the crepes that I had to figure out only from looking at it cause I'd never tasted it. I got it right and he loved it, it's his favorite. Yay!
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 9 I wanted to make snickerdoodles. My mom never taught me to cook so I was on my own. Well I did everything right except.... I used Salt instead of Sugar. In my defense they do look the same and the containers weren't labeled and it's not normal to have a big container of salt. So needless to say that was quite tragic.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
Top of the cheesecake burned and also it overflowed my pan. Next time I'm covering with foil and putting in an 11 or 12 inch pan. Good overall and very easy to make.

Jif(R) Peanut Butter Blossoms
The recipe said to keep it in the oven for way to long, 8 or 9 minutes seemed to be just about right. I used a tablespoon to get the right amount of dough otherwise I could never quite get the right amount. Next time I might use a tablespoon and a half or 2 tablespoons. These cookies were brought to my nephews school and were a hit. I used crunchy peanut butter cause that's all we had I really liked it this way but next I'll try with creamy.
