Easy Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I refrigerate the loaf and slice it up for my sons' school lunches. It is the only sandwich they really like. The only thing I changed in this recipe is that I used the French Bread recipe from this site instead of frozen bread dough. Delicious!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
Magnificent! This was delicious and used ingredients I always have on hand. I used bone-in chicken thighs (shredded them off the bone after cooking), KC Masterpiece honey BBQ sauce, & Bernsteins light cheese fantastico dressing. I cut the brown sugar down to 1/8 cup, as the BBQ sauce was a sweet one. Terrific served on the Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls recipe on this site. Thanks for the recipe!

Surprise Muffins

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
This recipe is a keeper!!! I made these without jam (nobody in my household likes jam), and they were very moist and delicious. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla and omitted the wheat germ, adding another 1/3 cup of whole wheat flour instead. We ate them plain (no butter) with dinner and they were a hit!

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
This is the perfect dish for entertaining! I have served this twice now for friends, and several have asked when I would be serving it to them again. I made a few changes to the recipe, and it was still delicious! I used 1 tablespoon butter and one tablespoon olive oil instead of the 1/4 cup of butter in the sauce. I omitted the parsley as well. I used frozen cooked shrimp (thawed) and cooked chicken strips from the store, and added these at the end and heated through. This is a restaurant-quality dish!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
I changed this recipe quite a bit to lower the fat content and reduce the spiciness for my kids. I used 1% milk with 1 tablespoon cornstarch whisked into it instead of the cream, and used cooking spray in place of butter. I made my own Cajun seasoning using 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/8 tsp cayenne, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp paprika. I didn't have lemon pepper, so I squeezed some lemon juice into the sauce. The whole family loved it! This tastes like it came from a restaurant, and we will use it often!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
This was the best rosemary bread I have ever had. It was very moist, and the crust was perfect! The only change I made was to use all-purpose flour instead of bread flour (didn't have any bread flour).

Thai Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This was really a wonderful recipe. My husband said that he would eat this every night! I used regular white vinegar and added a tablespoon of white wine. I omitted the onions, and used 1 1/2 teaspoons powdered ginger instead of fresh ginger root. Also added some sliced carrots. This will become a "regular" in our house.

Man Pleasin' Jambalaya

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
Delicious jambalaya! I omitted the celery (my boys don't care for it) and added 1 cup of fresh spinach leaves. The only reason I didn't give this recipe five stars is that the carrots were a bit mushy. I will slice them thicker next time.

Quick, easy and delicious! This sauce can also be used for strawberries! Just let it cool a little, dip the strawberries, and let chill in the fridge for a few minutes.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: May 15, 2005
This lasagna is delicious. I have been making it regularly for over two years. Since lasagna is so tedious to prepare, I make 6 at a time and freeze 5 of them for other meals (one will be served on Christmas Day this year!). I use two of the six pound cans of crushed tomatoes from Costco (costs a little over $2 per can), 6 twelve-ounce cans of tomato paste (also from Costco), 2 pounds of Italian sausage with 4 pounds of ground beef, and oven-ready lasagna because I prefer the texture of the noodles. Baking time for me has been one hour covered, 15 minutes uncovered. Absolutely wonderful recipe!

Mom's Best Waffles

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2005
These were really good waffles. Turned out crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. I chose this recipe because it had considerably less oil than the others on this site. I sprayed the waffle iron really well with cooking spray, and the waffles didn't stick. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Thanks for sharing!

My entire family loved this casserole, including my picky 4-year-old. My kids don't care for green beans or mushrooms, so I used diced carrots and spinach instead. Thank you, Jill!

Homemade Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2004
Like the other reviewers, I also had to add 1/4 cup water to this recipe to get the dough to bind. I used my bread machine to mix the dough. Put the ingredients in the machine, selected "dough" setting, and let the machine mix it for 10 minutes, then removed the dough. It was perfect and easy to roll out. Noodles turned out delicious in our chicken soup!

Brunch Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
My family loved this brunch dish! I lightened it up by using 2 cups of 1% milk in place of the cream, turkey ham or 50% reduced fat sausage (Jimmy Dean has a great one) in place of the ham, and reduced fat cheddar cheese. It was just as good as the regular recipe, with less guilt!

Toll House® Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
These are terrific! Very moist muffins. For a gift, you can layer the first 5 ingredients in a wide-mouth canning jar, then put the chocolate chips on top of the layers. I only used one cup of chips, as I didn't want the chocolate to overwhelm the muffins

Fun Cookie Suckers

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2003
I made these for Valentine's Day using red, pink, purple and white, wrapped each in cellophane, tied with a ribbon, then arranged them in a mug with styrofoam in it for a "bouquet". Added candy conversation hearts on top of the styrofoam. They were a huge hit! Terrific teacher gift for teachers with little ones! I also used parchment paper-lined cookie sheets. Will use red, white and blue for 4th of July, red, green and white for Christmas, etc. Thanks for the terrific recipe, Terri!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2002
This is a terrific chicken dish! I often take this dish to new moms, and it is very welcome. I cut down the butter to 1/8 cup, use the reduced-fat cream cheese and fresh chopped chives, and use only 3/4 of the dressing mix. These steps make it lower in fat and less salty. Delicious!
