About this Cook
I am trying to add more vegetarian/vegan/raw dishes to my repertoire. Unfortunately, I am an accomplished cook in the ways of red meats, sauces, everything that's not good for you.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook things that people really enjoy. Since I am attempting to transition to healthier fare, I am particularly interested in Asian cooking right now. It seems to be a good stepping stone between the SAD and vegan/raw worlds.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Traditionally my family ate the Standard American Diet, but we're trying out lighter fare.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm... anything to do with killing animals, unfortunately.
My cooking tragedies
Lack of skill in preparing vegan/raw foods.

Favorite Pie Crust
Very good pie crust. My husband thought it tasted like the crust on a Hostess fruit pie, but he liked it too.

Deluxe Waffles
Very good waffles - not too light, not too heavy.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I
Although I carefully grated cold butter all over the surface, there were still a LOT of dry, powdery pockets of plain cake mix. The concentrated cake/butter mix on top tasted too salty/powdery, and ruined the home-canned peaches beneath.
