Chicken Wilson

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
The chicken was so tender. My husband was willing to be the sous chef for this one and was very pleased the way it turned out. It is an ambitious recipe and was better to have two people working it! We added minced shallots with the mushrooms and then removed them from the pan. We used the same pan to saute the chicken but added garlic oil. We had not muenster so we used shredded mozzarella. The leftovers were almost as good as the first night. It's a keeper!

Pineapple Angel Food Cake I

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
I have had this cake before and it is delicious. However, I have not made it until today. I used an angel food cake pan and turned it upside down immediately out of the oven. I let it cool for 30 min. When I took the pan off, it fell. Apparently baking it for 25 min. in an angel food pan is not enough. Try 35 minutes instead. I did not have a 9 x 13 pan as submitter suggested and everything I've read says not to grease the pan. I'll try again baking it longer. I wouldn't be so disappointed if it weren't for someone's birthday cake.

Swiss Vegetable Medley

This was absolutely delicious. I substituted red bell pepper for carrots. The broccoli and cauliflower was not overpowering either.

Goulash Supreme

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2003
I didn't have the tomatoes or onion called for so I substituted a small can of diced tomatoes and a 16 oz. bottle of medium salsa. I filled the can and bottle with water which cooked the macaroni quite well. If you use salsa, you don't need the paprika. I changed the chili powder to 1 tsp. but it all depends on how spicey you like it. My husband and I thought this was the best goulash we've eaten.

Creamy Blueberry Pie

This was fantastic with a sweet but tangy taste. My friends asked for the recipe. I didn't change a thing in the recipe. I would definitely make it again.

Stovies

Maybe I needed to be Scottish! With the effort involved, it tasted almost like canned corned beef hash.
