About this Cook
I am a mom who has a picky health nut husband and two picky girls to feed. I enjoy cooking just about anything and lunch is the only meal I get to eat that I only have to take my own tastes into consideration!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything new. I am always on Allrecipes to find something new. I love mexican, japanese, indian and anything with flavor. I am a spice nut!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother always made a big family dinner on thanksgiving and christmas. I enjoy the traditional along with a few of my own newer recipes. I also love fixing my kids new things that surprise them. They are always amazed at what I can do with the food we have.
My cooking triumphs
I make a great ribs and wonderful italian dishes. I am branching out into indian food which is exciting for me.
My cooking tragedies
No baking in my world. I can do the break and bake cookies and even that is difficult!

Neiman Marcus Cake I
I had high hopes for this, but was disappointed. Maybe I should have done it in a smaller pan. It was like brownies with this white creamy frosting that never really stayed put. Next time I might try it with a 9x9 or 8x8 as suggested for a "taller" cake. I thought the flavor was fine, but nothing amazing.

BLT Soup I
Great Recipe! But I didn't saute the lettuce, instead I just chopped it and used it as a garnish for the soup. That way it stays crispy and fresh. Also, I chopped up the bacon and added extra bacon as well. This one is something wonderfully different. A little place here in town serves this once in a while and they say it is their most popular and most requested soups.

Chewy Granola Bars
I make this recipe all the time for my kids. They love it. I too though change a few things. I add more butter, sometimes peanut butter, more honey and if I am low on honey, I will add light corn syrup. I always use about 1/2 of dried milk, as I am always looking for a way to sneak in calcium. I also always add a variety of sweets, chocolate chips, m & m's, peanuts, raisins, and peanut butter chips. Even if it crumbles, we eat it in yogurt and right out of a bowl with a spoon. Thanks for a great recipe!!
