Cranberry Pecan Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
This was an absolutely delicious salad. I had many requests for this recipe at the pot luck I brought it to. If I could have given more stars, I would have. On a side note, I don't believe reviewers should knock a recipe down because "of the high fat content". If that were the case, all pastry, cookie, salad dressings etc would have to be downgraded. We don't need nutrition police in the reviews, we are perfectly capable of checking out the nutritional guide ourselves. Now I will step down from my soapbox :-)

Creamy Spinach

Wonderful! My husband normally doesn't care for spinach, but tonight he had seconds. I didn't change a thing, it was perfect as is. Thanks for the recipe!

Followed recipe exactly, and it was quite insipid, bland and boring. Next time I will double all the spices, and perhaps add some sesame oil..

Cheesy Chicken and Chive Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
This is a wonderful recipe. The first time I made it just as written. The second time I didn't slice the breasts but left them whole, topped with a roasted red bell pepper, then smothered all with the sauce. I served this over rice, and it really took 30 minutes or less to make. Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Mousse Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
I've made this same recipe for years. It is rich, dense, and just super chocolatey. A very elegant, impressive dessert. I make a small pool of a vanilla creme sauce on the plate, then place a slice of this loaf, then 3 small round pools of raspberry sauce on top of the vanilla sauce, about the size of a quarter.Draw a small sharp knife point through the raspberry sauce, and it ends up looking like hearts.

Wisconsin Native's Beer Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
Wonderful soup. I used a light beer, next time I will use a darker one, as the taste of the beer was just discernable. I also blended the vegetables after sauteing them as I like a smooth soup. Lots of popcorn on top!!! Thank you from the dairyland of Minnesota!

Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Kielbasa

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
Was this delicious! I seared the pork loin in a pan first, with a coarsely chopped onion. Then I assembled it in the slow cooker, using rinsed sauerkraut. My DH took one bite of the pork loin and yelped "WOW!!" Thank you so much, Heather

Stuffed French Toast II

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This was a delicious version of French Toast. I used Smuckers 100% All Fruit Blackberry. Also, I didn't have almond extract so I used vanilla. Topped it with a touch of maple syrup. I usually use the Overnight Blueberry French Toast recipe from this site, but wasn't looking forward to that much work after a 17 hour shift yeswterday. This was much easier, and I think better. Next time I will try PBJ for my PB lovin' DH. Thanks ElisaW!

This was delicious. I halved the recipe, and it came out of the oven moist. Served with a country ham, I will be making this dish again soon.

Kielbasa Skillet Stew

I loved this dish. Smoky, just the right amount of spice to it. I didn't have the tomato sauce, but I did have a can of crushed tomatoes, and it turned out great.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

I make this frequently for my Polish husband...it's his favorite dish, he could eat it all the time. I add a bit of black pepper to this dish, and it is wonderful! Tastes just like labor intensive stuffed cabbage.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2003
This is just like the recipe I got from my mom but had misplaced. This uses 1/4 cup more butter, which in fact made this stuffing better. I also added some chopped walnuts, maybe 1/2 cup, cause that's how I always made it. Delicious! NO leftovers :-)

Yummy Eggnog Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2003
This sure was yummy! I had to make no-bake pies for Thanksgiving as our antique stove wasn't yet hooked up to the gas. Made a Chocolate Eggnog Pie once and wasn't impressed..but decided to try this one anyway. Ohmigod, it was out of this world!! Gotta be an eggnog lover for this one, it was fantastic! The only thing different I did was to beat the cream to stiffer peaks. Then I folded the cream in, and left it to chill overnight. You will not be dissapointed in the pie!

No Bake Pumpkin Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2003
WOW! Just bought an antique stove, but it wasn't installed for Thanksgiving. So for the holiday dessert, we decided to try a couple no-bake pies. This pumpkin pie is absolutely delicious. You wouldn't know it wasn't baked judging by it's taste and consistency; in fact this was superior. And I've baked a lot of pumpkin pies! I won't bake a pumpkin pie again, as this pie was creamier, filled the pie crust better, and in fact was easier to prepare. I usually add more spices than recipes call for, but this recipe was just right, nice and spicy. Thank you Cathy.

Cranberry Sauce I

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2003
This cranberry sauce is so good! Based on other reviewers, I added 1/2 cup more sugar to make it a bit sweeter, and cooked the sauce about 15 minutes. Also added 2 TB of orange marmalade. Left it in the fridge overnight, and next morning it was jelled perfectly. Wonderful recipe, THANKS!

Chicken Riggies II

Reviewed: May 5, 2003
This dish is scrumptious! It truly is restaurant quality. I speed up the cooking time by combining the sherry and cream and simmering together for ten minutes. Leftovers don't look as appealing as the oil tends to seperate, but then again there are rarely leftovers!

Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2003
Delicious!! Tender, juicy, perfect! Served it over rice. This pork has a flavor that's richly sweet but balanced by the saltiness of the soy sauce. I did use "lite" soy sauce because I watch sodium intake. Will definitely make this again soon.
