About this Cook
I'm hardly a professional cook. I have a teeny tiny little apartment with an even smaller kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Meat! I'm a carnivor. But I can't say I don't like the veggies too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember my Mom's chicken and dumplings, my Dad's all-day spaghetti sauce, grilling steaks on Sunday afternoons, oyster stew, red velvet cake at Christmas. Gosh, there's so many memories associated with the kitchen when I was growing up that it's kind of hard to sort them all out and put them into a few words.
My cooking triumphs
I've had a few. They always make me proud of myself.
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies? Too numerous to count. One person's heart actually stopped after tasting a sauce I made. Fortunately, all I had to do was rip open a vein, shove in a clove of garlic, do CPR for one minute, and he was fine by the time dessert was served.

Charleston Breakfast Casserole
I'm Scott M. (Now Scottley), and I'm glad so many of you like this recipe. I'm especially proud that many of you make this as a holiday dish because it's perfect for just such events. And with Christmas just around the corner, I hope many more of you will try this recipe. It lends itself well to breakfast, brunch, lunch or even dinner. If bacon isn't your thing, try it with country ham, your favorite sausage, shrimp, or even smoked salmon layered-in for an unexpected surprise. Served with crispy pan-seared hashbrowns, some fresh fruit, and a flute of mimosa (or OJ and giner ale for the little ones), it might make you a rock star in your own kitchen.

Easiest Mushroom Sauce
I thought it was good, but a tad on the bland side. (A few dashes of Worchestershire helped perk it up a lot.) I also suggest cutting back on the flour so it isn't quite as pastey. But it is easy for sure.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup
Wow! My roommate doesn't care for most soups, but she literally couldn't believe I made this from scratch. This was awesome!
