About this Cook
I love to bake, but as many overcrowded households, our oven is used for storage. Nevertheless, I am baking any chance I get at a friend's house.
My favorite things to cook
Rosenmunnar (as evident in my profile pic) AREPAS Chocolate chip cookies Cheesecake Soup
My favorite family cooking traditions
making "tong yune" (sweet glutinous dumplings) for the special Chinese holidays
My cooking triumphs
Making Chinese herbal chicken soup, almost like my mom does..
My cooking tragedies
Trying to make yeast bread rolls one time... I guess I did something terribly wrong. I made them really cute cartoon character shapes, but, alas, they came out REALLY hard like bricks. And they smelled/tasted horrible. :( To this day, I haven't attempted making bread. But I hope to do so soon.

Oven Baked BBQ Ribs
Since I made the mistake of not reading the recipe thoroughly before grocery shopping, I had to make several substitutions: 1. no onions :( - used dried onion powder instead 2. no dark brown sugar - used light brown sugar instead 3. no dry mustard - used real spicy brown mustard instead, about 2 tablespoons 4. ran out of ketchup, so only used about 1 cup 5. Used 5 lbs of ribs and still had lots of leftover sauce What I can say is that even with all these changes (and work), this was an amazing recipe. My advice is to just experiment and don't worry about messing up! It's going to come out awesome anyway!

Sweetened Whipped Cream
Very yummy and incredibly easy to make! I over-whipped the first time, but it was still tastier than anything I can get out of a can... *Used this on my green tea cake topped with kiwi slices, delicious!!

Rosenmunnar
This is the easiest cookie to make ever, and with so few ingredients! I love this recipe and make it all the time. You can also make this for Valentine's Day, just shape the dough into a heart shape, then press flat with knuckles to get a heart-shaped well to put the jam/preserves in. And I use sugar-free Smucker's preserves to make myself feel a little better about devouring them!
