About this Cook
I'm a military wife, we're a young family & stationed overseas so I really like trying lots of new recipes to find out what works for us. I recently became a vegetarian, and love finding new veg recipes or regular recipes that can easily be substituted with tvp.
My favorite things to cook
Vegetarian, Italian, Mexican, baking cakes
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving..yum! Can't wait to do my first vegetarian Thanksgiving this year.
My cooking triumphs
I have a Tres Leches cake in the fridge right now..I never thought I'd make something like that. Also, I fried tofu the other day. Which if you knew me, you'd find that funny because I swore I'd never eat tofu & I'd never fried anything before!
My cooking tragedies
Mac n cheese when I was a kid..I somehow burnt it!

World's Best Peanut Butter Fudge
This taste AMAZING..but unfortunately it wouldn't set up. I followed directions exactly but it stayed mushy.. I really wish it would have gotten firmer - because it tasted so good!

Lemon Green Beans with Walnuts
I subbed lemon juice & lemon pepper for the lemon, salt, & pepper & we just didn't find them very good. It may be because the frozen green beans we tried end up practically falling apart (cooked those according to the directions on the bag). Will try again, as directed to see if that changes things.

Baked Tofu Bites
I think maybe the flavorings are a regional thing - cause my husband & I were not accustomed to these flavors and found them rather not to our liking. We took only a few bites. Made exactly as directed except mixed up a second batch or sauce because the first didn't seem to be enough.
