About this Cook
I don't necessarily like to cook but as a mom, it's a necessary evil made easier due to the fact that my husband does all my shopping.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Polish, that's my comfort food. My grandmother was from Poland and that's the food I grew up with. I think in a prior life I was Mexican because I like food super spicy ala Mexicana!
My cooking triumphs
Having my kids enjoy eating without a fuss. Pulling together a great Christmas Eve dinner by cooking with my husband and having everything done so I can enjoy my company.

Broccoli Ham Bake
Very good comfort food type casserole but after reading the other reviews about it being bland, I kicked it up a few notches. First, I sauteed the onion and butter with chopped garlic, above a clove. I also added chopped mushrooms. I seasoned the sauteed mixture with Adobo seasoning. I upped the milk to 3 cups because of the extra ingredients and used a full cup of shredded cheddar cheese. I also added 1 1/2 cups of cooked hash browns when I put in the broccoli.

Snoogy Chicken
Baked up moist but sauce was bland. Precooking, sauce tasted like Open Pit but did not hold up through baking. Won't make it again.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops
Very moist chop. To seal the chops since I had very thick ones, I dipped them in an egg wash and Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. I then browned them in butter and garlic, seasoned them in the pan with salt, pepper and chili powder, before putting them in the baking dish.
