About this Cook
I've been married for 3 Years to a great guy who thinks just about anything I make is AWESOME- I consider myself blessed. From the beginning of our marriage, our dream has been to have an open-home all the time. So, if you come in, we will always have something for you to eat- even if it is just a PBJ sandwich- we believe that a lot lies in building relationships, especially around the dinner table. We are always entertaining people, and therefore, I'm forever experimenting. I love cooking, but it's not always stress-free (just being honest:) I am ALWAYS looking for recipes which can be made for a crowd. I'm so concerned about our health, so I'm also scouring this site for healthy recipes; especially now that we have a 9 month old monkey (actually, a beautiful little baby girl:), I think about raising her and I try all the more to look for healthy recipes. So, all you expert cooks out there, I WELCOME your suggestions and advice.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts (they say) are my specialty- one of the first things I tried from this site that was an instant hit was the brownie caramel cheesecake. I LOVE Indian and Italian. I am trying to experiment with Thai and Chinese recipes. Not a big fan of Mexican, but will try it occasionally.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I wait EAGERLY for the Fall- then, I can bring out my favorite recipe for Chilli and Cornbread, French onion soups, corn chowder- not to mention warm woolen mittens and crisp apple strudel... AHHH...the Fall...
My cooking triumphs
Each time I make something that people like, I consider it a triumph. I get pleased very easily:)
My cooking tragedies
Early on in our marriage, we invited an older couple for dinner (translate that to the lady was an AWESOME cook and I was just learning:( Well, I was making pasta for dinner. I was in such a hurry and I was so nervous while making the sauce- I was going to add a tsp of oregano powder to the sauce- except, I didn't realize that the cover was loose, so I DUMPED oregano into the sauce and then had a panic attack- my dear husband calmed me down, scooped out as much of the oregano as he could and at the end of the night said, "This was a great meal". I think the our guests liked the meal as well (or so they said:)

White Chocolate Fruit Tart
Phenomenal! I'm not a fruit tart kind of person- my husband does not care much about fruits of any kind- but this dessert was absolutely fantastic. Everybody loved it!! I didn't want it to be too tart, so instead of the lemon juice, I added orange juice to the glaze like another reviewer suggested.

Freezer Caramel Drizzle Pie
Absolutely delicious!! Don't know why, but I added a tsp of vanilla to the cream cheese mixture- tasted great. This may be obvious, but make sure you FREEZE this. I froze it, then left it in the fridge for couple of hours before I served it, and it turned out to be too soft...people loved it all the same! Perfect for a hot day!

Chocolate Earthquake Cake II
This cake is simply awesome! I've been asked to make this several times. I have to mention that it is super sweet! You could probably add a little less sugar and still be fine. I tried making it with a brownie mix and it was great. I followed some of the other reviews- poured some of the cake mix in the pan after reserving 1/2 a cup- then spread the cream cheese in a layer and then spread the rest of the cake mix. It looked perfect!
