Curried Carrot Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2004
This was really good. Carrot soups I've had tended so be sweet, but I prefer the salty kind. This one was just to my taste.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2004
This is great! Like many reviewers suggested, I used chicken stock instead of water. As well, I added a bit of cumin and dried crushed chilis. I didn't add the spinach and vinager at the end because I liked it the way it was!

This was really good. I used it to make a trifle with strawberries and orange custard. Yum!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2004
This was great! I took the total of ingredients added to the cookies (chocolate chips and walnuts) and added that same amount of coconut, milk chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and chopped macadamia nuts. Incredible!

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2004
This provided a great base I could work with to achieve my favorite dip at a local restaurant! I made several changes - used different cheeses, fresh spinach (and used a little more), added a bit of olive oil, onion powder and garlic powder, parsley, and, on the advice of many reviewers, added some half and half.

Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2004
Yeah! I was able to make this recipe... For years I considered myself muffin-challenged and avoided making any. I just finished baking these and - yum! Albeit, I made some modifications: (I made half the recipe) and used 1/8c butter and 3 tblsp of vanilla yogurt. I didn't have any zest (which would have made for better muffins) so I ommitted that. I also substituted macadamia nuts for the walnuts. I too had to add a bit of oj due to dryness.

Taster's Choice Hazelnut Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2003
This was quite quick to make... I'd never made brownies before; it was 10:30pm and I wanted brownies with ice cream! Problem: no cocoa and only 1 egg!!! I came upon this recipe for which I, thankfully, had all the ingredients! It was a nice quick fix but these aren't the best brownies I've had. So, for a quick fix, with a limited ingredients: good!

Bechamel Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2003
I made this sauce 3 times so far. The first two times I made it for a fish gratin: i used fish stock and did not use the recommended seasonings, using, instead, onion powder (didn't used real onions) and garlic powder. This time I'm making chicken pot pie with it and I doubled the recipe, using half chicken stock and half vegetable stock and again using different seasonings: onion powder, garlic powder, and parsley.

Corn Chowder IV

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2003
This soup is great! I'm eating it RIGHT NOW!! I didn't do it EXACTLY as said. First off, there is absolutely no need to put butter/margarine. Second, I didn't put the bacon in the soup (well, I put there slices without cooking them first... you know, sorta like when you make baked beans??) - but I don't think that did much. What I did, is like someelse said, I sprinkled the bacon on the soup. Right now, I also put gruyere on top... It melted and is sooo yummy.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
I liked it at first: it was a change from my usual (canned) sauce. However, I froze the remaining sauce (as I always do with the canned) and it just became horrendously garlicy and thick. Will not make it again.

Easy BBQ Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
This turned out well! It was good... Except it made a LOT of sauce (I even threw some out... there was way too much) - although I think I DID use a bit less chicken than the recipe called for. Great with rice.

Caramel Popcorn

This was great! However, I baked it only 45min instead of one hour and it was just fine (I was really anxious to eat it!). I took this recipe a couple weeks back and I've made it for the third time tonight.

I can't believe no one's reviewed this recipe! These cookies are crispy and yummy! I, as usual, made some changes: I ommitted the nuts and changed semi-sweet chip to milk chocolate chips. I urge you to try these cookies!

Pumpkin Cookies II

These were good. But it's definately something you make when you want that sort of thing: it's not a cookie for every occasion. I ommitted the raisins and chopped nuts.

Honeybee Cookies

My dad and brother really liked these cookies. Personally, I didn't like them that much. The cookies turn out really flat and have a feeling of being undercooked (but my dad really likes that). So go figure... I guess the verdict isn't clear on this one: jury's divided.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are so good! I'd been looking for a chocolate chip cookie recipe that wouldn't leave me with flat cookies. These are great! I've made them with vanilla and white chocolate pudding mix: always turned out great!
