I'm a 34 yr old professional, living with my husband and our two cats. My husband and I both love to cook...you'll often find us working side by side to make dinner every night during the week. On the weekends, we love to try out new restaurants as well as go out to our favorite places. On Sunday's in the Fall, you'll find us tailgating at Steeler games or with family and friends cheering on the Steelers :)
My favorite things to cook
I love to make cookies! I make all of my family's Christmas cookies every year. Other than that, I love to try out new recipes and techniques. We seem to make a lot of pasta, and it's always fun to experiment with recipes and flavors.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For as long as I can remember, I've helped my mom out in the kitchen. It started out just helping to make cookies and pies, but soon I was learning to make entire meals. She instilled my love of the kitchen (and cookbooks!), and creating wonderful meals.
My cooking triumphs
This year, I finally tried working with yeast. My first project was to make soft pretzels from scratch. They turned out pretty yummy and looked great, so it was a success! My grandmother makes the most delicious homemade bread so that's next on my list to tackle. I'd love to carry on her legacy in making her bread recipe.
My cooking tragedies
I've had a lot of misses in my day. Seafood enchiladas for one...a dark chocolate cake for another. *sigh* You just gotta take the good with the bad, and keep trying! That's the thing with cooking and baking, there's always something new to try so the more you stick with it, your successes are bound to outweight the tragedies!
