No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars
I cut back the butter to 1/2 cup, and added an egg to the butter/sugar mixture. Make sure its not too hot when you do this, and stir constantly until blended. Then turn up the heat and let it bubble a bit while stirring to be sure the egg is cooked. Then I added the oats, and cooked them a bit to soften them. I think it was a great modification, although I never tried the original... I did feel that it held together very nicely. These will be an important new cooky for me during the next few months, my oven is broken, so I'm going to remodel!
