I think this is the best soup ever. I call it my "feel good soup." I've never had food make me feel warm and fuzzy inside before but this soup does just that. I have made it many times and I usually make it exactly as the recipe states and it's really really good. For those who change the recipe and then only give it like 3 or 4 stars because it doesn't taste that great - you should make the recipe as stated and review it based on that. Not based on changed you decided to make that makes it taste bad. The first time I made it exactly as stated and I felt like 1 teaspoon of pepper was too much so now I make it with 1/2 teaspoon. But the recipes does state pepper "to taste." I've tried this with ham as states and I have also made it with corn instead of ham because I simply didn't have any ham and that to me tastes even better. Next time I'm going to try it was cheese. I agree with other reviewers that this is a good starter recipe - I think this would be good with a variety of vegetable, cheeses, or meats. This is the best soup ever!

I did not have the same experience as others. The chicken was burnt and it tasted really nasty. A waste of time! I followed the recipe exactly; I should have followed peoples reviews and put the soup in with the chicken. NASTY!
