Hi! I'm a married stepmom with about a thousand sons and "orphans." Although folks say it isn't healthy to do this, I show my love through cooking for my family.
My favorite things to cook
I guess we're flexitarians. We eat meat 2-4 times a week & go vegetarian the rest of the time. I work and have some weekly commitments afterwards, so getting good food available fast is important, most of the time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Starting with fresh ingredients is very important. I avoid convenience foods with few exceptions. I want my family to eat mostly organic, hormone and antibiotic-free meat and produce as much as possible (it's expensive!).
My cooking triumphs
The best thing is that my boys are adventurous eaters. They eat all soy products & vegies without blinking an eye (nix on the eggplant, though;-). They're proud of our family meals.
My cooking tragedies
Losing the best recipes! I'll cook something spectacular, but when asked for a repeat, can't remember where I got it, what it was called, or where I put it. Darn.
