About this Cook
I am a artist living in Knoxville Tennessee and Oxford Mississippi. My passion is painting, and making beautiful art. Gallery http://misssbarbie.deviantart.com/ My hobbies are feeding my family with different recipes! I am always looking for new ways to cook. Asian, and "Southren" American is my favs. I can cook just about anything, though. And as long as it makes my eaters happy, then I am happy too! I would have continued my education by going into culinary arts, but I have bad feet and am unable to stand for long periods of time. My favorite things to cook
Seaseme Chicken, Yakimondo, Kimchi, Bulgogi (chicken or Beef), Sushi, Chicken Teriyaki, Lemon Chicken (baked and fried), Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork, "French" Veal Fricassee, "South Korean" Bean-Sprout Namul,"Japanese" Yakitori Chicken and Vegtable Skewers, "Thailand" Tapioca Coconut Milk, "Southren American" Simmered Greens with fat-back
My favorite family cooking traditions
Japanese, Korean, Native American, Southren American, Thai, Italian, Chicken, Sweets, Steamed Vegtables, Rice, Noodles, Pasta, Saute, Broiling, Baking, Frying, Freezing, Marinades, Perserves, and healthy eating.
My cooking triumphs
Italian Cream Cakes, 3 tower Wedding Cake, Asian, Desserts, Custom artistic designs painted on pastries and cakes, and unique cooking skills!
My cooking tragedies
Unfortunantly Breads are my weakness. I need more practise and in due time plan on mastering this! I am impatient, and tend to check the oven while it's still "rising." This tends to fall flat! :-0

Oregano-Lemon Chicken
This is great! I marinated my chicken in lemon juice, honey, and cut oregano for about 3 hours before I baked it. Then, when I baked it I just coated each strip in honey, sprinkled the herbs and pinned the lemons on with toothpicks. Just pour your marinade in with it to let it simmer while baking to add that extra flavor.

Asian Orange Chicken
This is another fav that I cook for my family! I slice up oranges and soak them in sugar, then put them in when the dish is served. It just adds that extra flavor. If your sauce is too runny, then simply add an extra pinch of corn starch, after boiled. The ginger adds a great taste! Serve it up on some fried rice with carrots. Sauce is creamy and rich. This is making me hungry. Also, battered my chicken in tempra to give it that authentic Asian feel. You can buy it at your local asian mart.
