About this Cook
I have lived in 6 different states, living in house number 10 and will never leave Colorado. This is my 29 year doing taxes for H&R Block.
My favorite things to cook
Comfort foods, the weather is always an issue in Colorado. Once a week bread making.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fondue on New Years Eve and an English Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
A recipe I found in Bon Appetit about 15 years ago for bow tie pasta and sausage. Lovely creamy sauce and guests think you slaved making it.
My cooking tragedies
A smoked brisket I turned up the heat on (we had guests). An another time with company, it was below freezing, I grill all year, ended up trying to use the George Forman grill. It was a disater.

Cranberry Coleslaw
My daughter-in-law suggested a salad with cranberries for Christmas dinner. So, I tried this one and it was great. Following a review, I did add about 2 tlb of cider vinegar and used a very small red onion.

Simple Red Sauce with Pasta
I love anything with pasta and bacon. But this really needs a bit more sauce. You must be very careful to turn off the heat and get the sauce on the pasta once you stir in the cheese.

Pan-Fried Tilapia with Tomatillo Red Pepper Sauce
Made this to the recipe. I did reduce the servings in the recipe. Loved the idea of the ingredients in the sauce . Could be from the reduced size but I tasted too much vinegar in the sauce and the ratio of flour to chile powder, I would reduce. This sauce was enought to cover the fish. I may reduce the vineger, chile powder and add some pine nuts to the sauce.
