OMG I can cook!?!?
About this Cook
After travelling around the world in the Navy, I have a love affair with foods from all places. I am still learning and I can't say enough about this site and all the great cooks contributing here.
My favorite things to cook
Casseroles and desserts. I love a great 5 can casserole recipe. Its really hard to go wrong. And who doesn't like dessert?!?!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Did not come from a family with a lot of traditions so I am making up my own as I go along.
My cooking triumphs
My first thanksgiving dinner came off on time and without a single hitch. No, really!!
My cooking tragedies
Trying to do an organic vegetarian dish for my housewarmer as I knew some of my friends ate that way, well, all I can say is I am glad I had lots of crackers, dips and great friends who were great sports!!! Practice Practice Practice...

Oriental Chicken Salad
Made this exactly to recipe tonight, and there were no leftovers. For my personal taste I would add cilantro, a little sesame oil to the dressing and some acid to the ingredients, like lemon or lime, maybe mandarin orange sections. I just felt the dressing needed some acid bite to it.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker
I haven't had pork chops in a very long time and they were on a super sale, so I found this recipe from Pinterest. I liked the flavor but I think I figured out tonight that I just don't enjoy the texture of pork chops. Overall a good dish, and I do love using my slow cooker.

Argentinean Chimichurri
I didn't have parsley but I did have two bunches of cilantro so I gave it a shot and OMG, the very best sauce on fish, chicken and steak! **UPDATE** I mixed a quarter cup of this in with two cups of alfredo sauce and put it on pasta, very delicious!
