Hi All!! I'm Dariel (dare-e-elle). I am newbie at this cooking and baking thing, but I am loving every step of the way! I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba with my lovely boyfriend in an apt :) He is great especially because he is the perfect guinea pig! He will eat anything I put in front of him and always gives me an honest answer. I live in the coldest city in Canada (with a populus of 500,000+) So I love to cook fall and winter meals. Something that really warms the body! Every Christmas Eve, my family has a traditional Ukrainian Dinner, homeade perogies, pettisca, keilbasa (store-bought!), sauerkraut like you wouldn't believe and many many danties! Rencently I made my favorite cookie in the world! Empire cookies, (or imperial or diplomat cookies) Either way I was really nervous about how they tasted because the shortbread didn't taste very well right out of the oven. But as soon as I put on the jam and icing, that cookie absorbed all the moisture and they were a HUGE hit. So much so that my very own mother (who is a master chef/baker in my eyes) asked me to make them for a christmas dainty!! That right there was probably the best moment of my life. (so far! lol) I once made home-ade macaroni and cheese with too much cheese to the point where my boyfriend and I lost our appetites!
