About this Cook
I am a twenty-year-old from California who just moved to a completely different town than the one I grew up in. I am loving it here, though I do miss my family and my cats. I live on a beautiful property with my boyfriend and two guinea pigs, whom I refer to as my children. I am officially a Starbucks barista and will be attending college this upcoming January, where I am hoping to get into the pharmacy technician program. I love books, tea, cooking, music, baths, fitness, healthy food, and animals. I spend most of my free time finding new things to cook and bake. Fortunately, I have a boyfriend with super fast metabolism that loves to eat, so he is always my guinea pig. Oh, and he is SUCH a good cook, I love when he makes food for me.
My favorite things to cook
Oatmeal (I eat it every morning, slow-cooked with ground flax and topped with fruits and my homemade granola), fish (salmon, tuna, cod, shrimp.. anything, really. I love seafood), hummus, oil-free stir fry, quinoa dishes, sandwiches, wraps/burritos, dips, soups, potatoes, cookies, bars, granola
My favorite family cooking traditions
I LOVE my mommy's Betty Crocker lemon bars. They are a family and guest favorite. I also love her scalloped potato recipe.. simple and delicious. My mom is my biggest cooking inspiration by far, all her dishes are amazing.
My cooking triumphs
My homemade marinades and my first turkey breast, which I made to use as an alternative to processed deli meat.
My cooking tragedies
When my boyfriend and I first started cooking together, we would use his mom's kitchen. One time, we were making sweet muffins, along with this amazing maple cookie recipe I was obsessed with. We used what we thought was flour and it turned out to be something different and made both batters taste totally vile. I tried adding sugar, but it did not help. I decided to bake the muffins anyhow and they came out absolutely horrible. Needless to say, we had to toss both batters, one of which we had doubled.

Coffeebar Chai
Yum yum yum yum I am in love. I added on an extra cinnamon stick and some ground cinnamon, as well as fresh ginger root. Had to omit the cardamom because I didn't have any. Left out the milk because I was planning to use this as a chai concentrate that I can refrigerate for later use. Soo good. Thanks for the recipe. Also, some advice for optimum enjoyment: FIRST, boil the water, then steep the tea bags REMOVED FROM HEAT for about four minutes. Remove the bags, return to heat, add remaining ingredients, bring that to a boil, and then simmer for at least fifteen minutes. No need to ruin the tea by making it too bitter!

Pomegranate Feta Salad with Lemon Dijon Vinaigrette
Very tasty. I already had all these ingredients, save a few. I used spinach and romaine. I also kinda made the emphasis on dijon for the dressing, which came out pretty yummy. I also put avocado and fresh orange tomato. it was gooood

Decorator Frosting
Best frosting recipe I've ever come across. Thick, creamy and delicious, I will definitely always use this one.
