I don't like to cook with shortening, so I used this recipe for apple pie instead. It came out great! It is flaky and rich, and goes great with apple pie. Would definitely use this recipe again.

This pie is absolutely delicious! What really makes it fabulous is the sauce that you make on the stove. However, one of my favorite things about apple pie is the cinnamon! So I added cinnamon to the mixture and it tasted great. I also used a crust recipe with butter, which went well with the pie since the sauce is made with butter as well. Would definitely use this recipe again!
