Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts
Excellent, light and fluffy. I used a bread machine AND whole wheat flour and they turned out great! Our three generation, handed-down recipe has now been laid to rest in favor of this one. The whole wheat flour was Bob's Mill Pastry Whole Wheat for rising breads, pastries. So it's not as heavy as other whole wheat. NO SPECIAL RECIPE for bread machine, just follow order recommended by manufacturer, that is, usu. wet ingredients first. I did not proof the yeast, I knew it was fresh. Glaze is perfect or maple frosting, use pure maple syrup and confectioners sugar. If you want it thin, heat it a little on stovetop. Enjoy!
