About this Cook
I am a young wife and mommy to one baby boy. I never cooked before I was married in November 2008, but when I became a wife (to a former head cook at a restaurant!) and stay-at-home mom, I figured it was my duty to learn how to cook. I always thought I wouldn't enjoy cooking - but I truly love it! My husband is the worship leader church and together we are part-time independent photographers, and we also music/art on the side.
My favorite things to cook
I started out making pasta, usually with creamy sauces. I think I've finally gotten a handle on that, and am looking forward to venturing out and challenging myself to broaden my cooking abilities.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is a great cook - we grew up eating a home-cooked meal entirely from scratch every night. I have a lot to live up to!
My cooking triumphs
Every time I make a dish and it turns out good, I celebrate a little.
My cooking tragedies
None yet - but we'll see!

oh my ... these are SO good. the best peanut butter cookies i've had yet. however, they are super rich, so i think next time i will use half the sugar.

Turkey Sausage Breakfast
Pretty delish - I used mozzarella cheese instead of cheddar and one whole grated red potato instead of hash browns. Added a little sea salt before cooking. Baked it at 400 for 40 minutes. This is a great recipe to mess around with and make your own. In my opinion, it could have used a bit more flavor, so next time I think I'll add some onion and maybe a bit more cheese, maybe some garlic powder - but I'm from a Hispanic family that puts tons of spice in everything. :)

Chocolate Buzz Milkshake
Mmm, yum. I put more coffee than it called for, and would probably put even more next time I make it. Not that anything was wrong with it - it is delish!! My husband used to be a Starbucks barista, and he said it tastes just like Starbucks' mocha frap. ;)
