I am a stay at home mom with two children. My daughter is 6 and my son is 3. My husband is a police officer, working the grave shift. With our crazy schedules, I am always looking for quick and easy meals. Both my children are vert picky eaters, so getting them to try new things is always a challenge! I love to bake! I enjoy making cookies for my kids and husband. I also started baking birthday cakes about three years ago. My children love that they get to pick a theme for their big day and mommy makes the cake. I really enjoy decorating the cakes with different patterns!! The most important family tradition is not one meal, holiday, or speciality food. Our tradition is cooking together. I began cooking at the age of 6. It was very special to spend the time in the kitchen with my mom every day! I now enjoy the special time I get with my daughter when she helps me cook. This was my very first birthday cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I had never made a specialty cake before. I spent the night before her party working on the cake. The 'Elmo' cake came out perfectly! Everone who came to the party asked me which bakery did the cake. When they found I that I did it, people started to request their own cakes! There isn't just one tragedy that comes to mind. It's more the fact of when I either don't plan enough time or I have too many things going on. I don't clear my mind and enjoy cooking. Then there is always a tragedy that takes place.
