Jam Filled Butter Cookies

This is my new favorite cookie. I used strawberry preserves and they tasted great. These are so easy to make and they aren't overly sweet. I followed the recipe exactly.

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This is the BEST chicken salad ever!! I used seedless red grapes and walnuts. Immediately after I mixed all the ingredients together it was very salty (and I love salt). I put it in the fridge to chill overnight until the party the next afternoon and it no longer tasted salty!!! Everyone loved it. I DO NOT suggest decreasing the salt!!!

Easy Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
Wow - This was delicious!! While browning the meat I added onion powder. I was unsure if I should use real mayo or Miracle Whip, I chose to use real mayo and I am glad I did! I added an extra 1/2 cup of salsa (total 1 and 1/2 cups) and a package of taco seasoning to the meat mixture. (I used the taco season and still added the chili powder, mayo and salsa.) I served this with spanish rice and refried beans. My husband and both of my VERY PICKY kids liked this. Taco Casserole will be a regular in our house!!!

This was great!! To make my life easier I took off the husk and silk and wrapped the corn in a foil packet, added a pat of butter, season all and pepper.

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
These were good. I also mixed the flour with the milk and poured it over top and added onion powder. I only had one problem...the milk overflowed while cooking and made a big stinky mess in the bottom of my oven. Not sure why this happened, I measured the milk carefully and used the right size pan. I will still make these again i will just be ready for the overflow. =)

Grilled Ham Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
Awesome! AWESOME! Awesome! I used the apricot preserves rather than the plum. I followed the reciped with 2 minor variances. I made the glaze and marinaded the ham in the fridge for 4 hours. Some people we had over are not real fond of sweet ham so I did not brush the ham with the glaze while grilling. The result was a beautiful ham that had a great flavor and was not overly sweet. I put the glaze that the ham was marinating in in a pan and boiled it for one minutes and served it on the side for those that wanted it. The ham turned out so pretty that my sister in law said that it looked better than the ones she saw Emeril cook on his show!!

Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2007
Very tasty. These were so good and they are easy to make but very time consuming. I did not want my cheese to melt out so I did not wrap it with the bacon. When the wrapped tots were done cooking I laid the piece of cheese on top of each wrapped tot and put them back into the oven long enough to melt the cheese.

Funeral Potatoes

Just awesome. I made this for Christmas dinner yesterday and everyone raved. After reading all the reviews I decided I was going to half the liquid. I halved all the liquid ingredients except for the butter and it was to die for. I will be making this very often!!!

Classy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
I made this with our Christmas dinner and I will never go back to my old way of making green bean casserole. Take the advise of other reviewers and use less sour cream. ***ONLY USE HALF A CUP OF SOUR CREAM, even the author has posted that the recipe is printed wrong. I used canned green beans and I mixed the green beans and sauce together the night before and put it in the fridge overnight. When it was time to bake it I put the crackers on it and popped it into the oven. Delicious and easy, what more could you ask for???

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
My mom has been making this cheese ball for years, it is so good. She finally gave me the recipe and I found it here!! There is a minor change - she only uses 2 cups of chedddar cheese. This is good with the ranch dressing mix but try it with the Italian Garlic & Herb dressing if you like Garlic as much as we do. We also make 3 cheese balls instead of 1. That way you can put one out and leave the others in the fridge until needed. IF there is any leftover someone can take home a pretty chese ball, rather than a partially eaten one.

I gave this 5 stars because it tasted awesome but for some reason mine was not thick enough to stay in a ball. I ended up serving it in a bowl.

Harvey Ham Sandwiches

Very, very good. I made it just the way it says and loved it. I will definately make this again, it would be perfect for family gatherings. The only people who didn't like it were those that don't like sweet ham - believe me it is their loss.....

Chili Dog Casserole I

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2006
This is SOOOO easy and SOOOO good. I only tore up 6 buns because my pan was getting full. I used 8 hot dogs, 2 - 15 oz cans of chili and topped it with cheese. I left the onion and mustard off, those that wanted it added it later. My buns were not soggy at all, they were a little crispy. This makes ALOT of food and it is very filling.

Quick and Easy Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2006
This deserves more than 5 stars! I was worried about leaving the dough out un-refridgerated all night. But it tasted great and nobody got sick, so I guess it's OK. Like other reviewers I cut each roll into quarters. To make sure that the sugar and pudding were easily distributed I mixed the sugar, cinnamon and pudding in the same bowl then coated each piece of dough in it. Layered them in the pan, after the first layer I sprinkled more of the sugar mix on top then poured half the butter and half of the nuts over it. Repeat with the next layer. I ended up useing about half of the sugar mix because I was worried it would be too sweet, but next time I am going to use more. And I will probaly use extra butter to dip the dough into before I coat with the sugar mix. I cooked it for about 20 minutes and let it sit 10 minutes. It was cooked perfectly, no burnt or crusty top, just gooey sweetness.
