I am a wife and mother of 2. I started cooking when I moved in with my husband 15 years ago. I've learned that the more you cook the better you get.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that gets a favorable response from my family. But I have to admit that desserts are the funnest to cook. I love to decorate them and make them look pretty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For all family gatherings I am told to bring a dessert. Our family loves that I either bring an unusual or very pretty dessert.
My cooking triumphs
I think my biggest triumph is teaching myself to cook. I am also proud of the fact that although I do not eat seafood everybody always raves when I cook it.
My cooking tragedies
When I first started baking I found a recipe for a cake that looked like a box of roses. It was so beautiful and creative that I decided I was going to make it for my Mom for Mother's Day. After spending many hours in the kitchen baking each different piece of the cake and assembling it I was crushed when it looked nothing like a flower box. To this day it is referred is remebered by what it looked like; a coffin cake. =(
