My husband, Michael, and I have been married 19 1/2 years. We have a cat named Bucky who entertains us daily. I am a Certified Dental Asstistant and Michael is Asst. Manager for Goodyear Tires. We are members of Washington Street United Methodist Church in Columbia, SC and enjoy spending time with our families and friends. I have recently joined a co-op and enjoy getting new ingredients to cook. I also enjoy collecting cookbooks. I love cooking southern food; fried chicken, pork chops, butter beans, roast and potatoes, but really enjoy trying new recipes. I love boiling peanuts (it's a southern thing). I love cooking family recipes. I have made 2 family cookbooks in the past few years--the first one I made was just for close family members and then I was on a committee for our family reunion and help organize and create a cookbook for the reunion....it was so much fun! I made a Julia Child chocolate cake!!! It looked just like hers in the recipe....yay! My husband and I found a recipe for Orange chicken, we decided to make it together----it was orange alright...orange in color, flavor, smell--it found the trash and we have never made it again!
