About this Cook
I like to cook, bake and BBQ because when I'm bored, it's something to do, it's fun, and it's food. Some eat to live, I live to eat.....
My favorite things to cook
Everything under the sun except for gelatin. I hate gelatin. Gelatin = eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww
My favorite family cooking traditions
Swedish meatballs, toll house cookies, apple pies.
My cooking triumphs
Getting something right AFTER getting it wrong! Getting it right the first time! Trying new recipes! Discovering I ACTUALLY like something I THOUGHT I hated (except gelatin, that'll NEVER happen.)!
My cooking tragedies
Burning a lot of stuff. Not adding the right kind of something. Adding wrong amounts. Following the wrong recipe then finding it out right after its taken me 24 hours to make.

Russian Tea Cakes I
A tad dry, but very good. It helps quite a bit if you soften one stick (Half cup) of butter. Softening both is too much, but one makes it moist and light. This is one of those things you either like or don't. I always called them Mexican Wedding cakes, by the way.

Texas Chocolate Frosting
DELICIOUS! Great on brownies, cupcakes, or even soft cookies. I made it twice, and one time I used about one quarter tablespoon less cocoa. It made it a little less strong, better for brownies so that the amount of chocolate is not overpowering. For cookies, blondies, yellow or white cake etc.... the full 4 tablespoons is best. Enjoy!!! This recipe rocks!
