About this Cook
I have alway loved cooking and experimenting with new recipes. I have a husband, two dogs, and an infant, who all like my cooking most of the time.
My favorite things to cook
I started off baking as a child became popular among my family for my desserts. I've graduated to making dinner type meals, and as a newly wed making weekly dinner plans. I enjoy trying to come up with original ideas for cooking, although I'm still a novice at that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving and Christmas always consisted of our family getting together for a large gathering with a spread of food that even just a little sample of everything didn't leave room on your plate in just one trip.
My cooking triumphs
My first Thanksgiving dinner I cooked included apple-wood smoked turkey breast tenderloin, seasoned green beans, stuffing with cranberries and pecans, and pumpkin pie with pecan topping. It was delicious and was done in under 3 hours!(with the exception of the pie, which was made the day before).
My cooking tragedies
Chewy salmon.

Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake
This pie was a hit on Thanksgiving. It was easy to make and I'm still enjoying the pumpkin butter that was left over. I chose this one because it only calls for one bar of cream cheese, as opposed to three. It's not really like a cheesecake but more of a creamy smooth pumpkin pie. Definitely a keeper!

Rosenmunnar
Made these exactly as recipe instructed and they turned out great. Used the food processor for most of the blending & mixing so it was zippy fast. Cooked them for 15 minutes and they were perfect. They are so buttery and almost melt in your mouth... it's hard to stop eating them! Thank you for this recipe.

Glazed Apple Cookies
These are delicious! I followed some suggestions of other reviewers & the substitutions I made were: replace shortening with butter, bake at 375 for 9-10 minutes, and used pecans instead of walnuts. I've also tried it with almonds which is delicious. I mainly used my food processor, first to chop the nuts, and then for most of the mixing. I move it to the bowl & mix by hand when it's time to incorporate the 2nd half of the dry ingredients. These were a real crowd pleaser and perfect for the fall season! Thank you so much for a wonderful and easy recipe!
