This recipe was really good! The only thing it needed in my opinion was more salt. Although, I didn't use the bacon fat, so this could have altered the taste. Otherwise, it was really good, will make it again!

I followed this recipe exactly, except I only used 4 sweet potatoes (which I peeled, boiled, then mashed in a Kitchen Aid mixer), and I used 2% milk instead of heavy cream. It did not turn out sweet enough. There was too much sweet potato. I think this would turn out better with more sugar, and less sweet potato. Otherwise, very good!

I only used this recipe to make the meatballs, and used a canned sauce. I used ground turkey instead of beef. The meatballs were OK at best, but were mushy on the inside. They were done (well cooked) but just had a mushy consistency. I will continue to look for a better meatball recipe.
