About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Pastas, Indian & Thai cuisine
My favorite family cooking traditions
At family dinners, we must always have a minimum of 5 different vegetable dishes, to placate my mum!
My cooking triumphs
My stepsister and I cooked Thanksgiving dinner this year to help out my mum, who was in the middle of moving, and it was a success! I did the turkey, and it turned out perfectly! Who knew?
My cooking tragedies
Any time I've multiplied a recipe... I know I'm doing the math right, but it's always a disaster!

The Best Ugly Turkey
This was my 1st time making a turkey, and it was perfect! Even my too-hot oven couldn't ruin it! I used stuffing, not just an apple, but otherwise followed the recipe, and it was ugly and delicious! I'm not afraid to cook turkeys anymore!

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
Fantastic!!! I followed the advice of other reviewers and used slightly less sugar, and only lined the bottom of the pie with chocolate chips, but I used the full amount of bourbon, and it wasn't overpowering at all. Maybe the other reviewers were wimpier than my family! I don't bake much, but I will definitely make this one over and over!

Italian Peas
Nice, but not spectacular. They took much longer to cook than the recipe said, but that may be because I used a too-small pot.
