I am 14 and am a freshman in high school. I started cooking as another way to express myself and make art with things that make people happy. ITALIAN. I don't know why, seeing as I'm not Italian, but the traditional foods and styles have always appealed to me. I am born and raised Texan and those recipes and techniques have been passed down through my family, For my aunt and uncle's anniversary this year I wanted to attempt something I had never done before. I decided to make a two layer chocolate cake with homemade buttercream icing and fresh strawberries in between the layers. For an extra touch I decided to make marshmallow fondant and dye it pink with food coloring. It was a success! I always seem to get the pan too hot when making pancakes and the skillet starts smoking and gets the house all smelly.
