About this Cook
I'm a college student who practices cooking whenever I get the chance. I'm constantly reading cooking magazines (Cooking Light is my favorite!) and any cookbook I can get my hands on. Of course, the best things I've learned from cooking have been from my mom, who got her wisdom from her grandmother. Long line of cooks in my family!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that I can bake I looove!! And any new pasta recipes, I'm there.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My great-grandmother's homemade fudge recipe that my mom and I make every Christmas, along with our Christmas cookie tradition. Some of my favorite recipes of my mom's that I'll carry on - her lasagna, her chicken pasta, and her famous spaghetti sauce!
My cooking triumphs
The best thing I've made to date was probably my pumpkin bread I made for Thanksgiving a year ago. So delicious!! Got it from a Blue Ribbon recipe book and it's fantastic! I didn't have a bowl big enough to mix the ingredients in, so I used a giant stewpot! I was apprehensive, but it turned out delicious!! I can't wait to make it again this year!
My cooking tragedies
No big tragedies yet! But I'm still young and learning.

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus
Love it! I made this to go along with Baked Salmon II recipe, and it was delicious! I made the mistake though, of after taking it off the stove, keeping the lid on, so it still continued to cook and they got a little soggy, but they were still good! I recommend sauteeing for less than 10 minutes, or until bright green, if you like them still crisp like me. Very good!

Baked Salmon II
This was so good! I cut the oil down to about 4 tbsp, and marinated it in a ziploc instead of a pan. I also put foil over the pan when baking instead of wrapping it around the salmon, and it still turned out amazing! Served with rice pilaf and asparagus...mmm yum!! Definintely keeping this one on hand!
