Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
This was amazing. I used 3 packages of the grands sized rolls, cut into 6ths and multiplied the recipe by 1 1/3 times. I just have 2 suggestions...1. Use butter 2. Boil water and pour over the raisins, then cover and let sit for a few minutes, then drain and dry. It worked well to prepare everything the night before then put in the fridge over night. I just popped it in the oven this morning. It took about 45 minutes to bake.

Maureen's Baked Beans

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
Fantastic, and a family hit. I think 20 servings is a bit high, atleast not with my family. I thought it was a bit sweet and would cut the brown sugar back to 1/2 a cup. Like other reviewers suggested I made mine in the crock pot and then finished the last half hour in the oven with the lid off. Definately a keeper!

Tina's Shortbread Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
These are my favorite cookie- minus the walnuts. I double the recipe and shape all the dough into balls, then freeze half before baking. It's great to have them on hand for when guests come. I melt some chocolate and drizzle over cookies for a fancier appearance.

Sausage Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
I looooved these. They were a huge hit at my party. Like other reviewers suggested I partially cooked the bacon in the oven and removed it before it got crispy. I found it was easier to work with. I also added 2 cups of cheddar cheese to the cream cheese and sausage mixture. I mixed it all in the food processor which broke down the sausage quite a bit. It was a huge hit.

Creamy Salsa Dressing

Made exactly as the recipe stated, it was wonderful. Very fresh flavors. Next time I may try it with half mayo and half sour cream and make it as a dip.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
So moist, so yummy...oh so good. I've made this quite a few times now. I prepared in 2 8in cake pans. I didn't line with parchment, but I use Bakers Joy spray that has flour in it, and it came out beautifully. I omitted the pecans and opted to chop walnuts and encrusted the side of the iced cake with walnuts instead. On occassion I also add premium raisins (Trader Joes are nice and plump), I didn't want raisins that were too dry to remove the moisture from the cake.

Very Fruity Rum Punch

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2006
I looooved this punch. I did a few things other suggested- I used club soda instead of water when making the juice, and I cut up the fruit, and mashed it a bit with a spoon to get the flavors out. Was a very easy to sip drink on a hot night.

Grilled Pineapple Slices

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
I thought this was good, but what a mess on the grill. The pineapple I used was fresh, and with the cinnamon sugar it didn't taste much like pineapple but was more of an apple taste. Next time I make it, I think im going to do a variety of fruit- apples, pineapple, maybe some strawberries and make a kabob to grill.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: May 29, 2006
I did this using the microwave and the oven, since I didn't have time for the crock pot. I microwaved the cream cheese and the salad dressing (I used a premium blue cheese dressing) for 2 minutes. I used boneless skinless breasts that I just chopped using the food processor. I followed what everyone said and used less cheese. This was AWESOME. It was better after it had set for a few minutes and cooled off, since it was less drippy. The guys loved it and fought over it.

I just made these tonight, only to discover there was no room on the grill! So I just cooked them in some of the marinade. YUM! Great summer recipe!

Tiramisu Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2005
Oh yum. Like others, I doubled the Kahlua that I put in the crust and the cheesecake itself. I ran out of ladyfingers and used vanilla wafers. I hate to say it but there wasn't much of a difference in the taste- especially with the extra kahlua. I dusted the tops with cocoa powder and then finished with a homemade whipped cream which I added 1 tbs. of corn syrup to stablize the cream, and then added about 1 tbs of instant powdered mocha (like instant by Folgers) to one cup of heavy whipping cream, then finished with shaved chocolate. It was gorgeous and delish!

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
Yummy Yummy Yummy. The gingersnaps are an absolute must. They had such a POW that compliments the pumpkin beautifully. I used pumkin pie spice because I had it on hand, worked out just fine instead of using the different spices. This is a gread addition to any Thanksgiving table. If fall could have a taste, it would be this. Excellent!

Blueberry Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
If you live in NJ during the summer, it seems as though its a requirement to make something with blueberries as a dessert. This cake is UNBELIEVABLY moist and tasty. Just a suggestion- after about 45 minutes I covered my cake so it wouldn't get overly brown on top. It worked. Everyone loved it. A fight between a younger woman and and 80 year old woman almost broke out for the last piece.

This soup was just awesome. I used water and beef base instead of canned beef broth, I used more base and then added a touch of chicken base as well. It was to die for.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2004
This was a yummy cake! So moist! I changed it up a bit, since I stumbled onto this cake when I was looking for a chocolate banana cake. I used banana pudding instead and added one small smashed banana. I replaced the kahlua with godiva chocolate liquor. It was awesome!

Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
I made this for Christmas dinner. I baked it the night before, even made the sauce earlier in the day and just reheated in the microwave before serving. It was a hit! I used raisin bread in place of the regular bread, doubled the sauce and cut the sugar by 1/4 of a cup total. Awesome!
