About this Cook
mom of three (two at home), love to cook and experiment with different recipes. Nothing more satifying that cooking for family and friends!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake anything...like to experiment with casseroles and slow cooker meals especially since we are a busy family (hockey, gymnastics, etc.)
My favorite family cooking traditions
It's always been a tradition to make the mashed potatoes with cream cheese and sour cream and green bean casserole for holiday dinners.
My cooking triumphs
My first attempt at cheesecake was a raving success!!!
My cooking tragedies
I forgot to put the turkey in the oven one Thanksgiving...the company noticed when they walked in the door and didn't smell it! lol Dinner was late that year, but it was all good!

Pecan Pie Bars I
Made these for the first time today, for Christmas. The taste was great and it was easier than anything to put together, but I found after following another cook's suggestion of making 24 instead of 36 and using a 9 x 13 pan, they didn't set after 25 minutes of baking. I baked them for about 5 minutes longer and I had to cut the edges off them because they went hard. All in all though, I would make them again...very good!

French Fried Potatoes
While these are good, I really didn't notice much different between them and the fries we already make. We don't soak ours at all...merely cut washed potatoes into fries, dry them off and put them in the deep fryer and they come out crispy and good. While I wouldn't use the recipe again, it's not because I didn't like it, per se....I just didn't see any difference in the finished product.

Cocktail Meatballs
Sensational. I have yet to serve these to guests (they're coming tomorrow), but my husband and I tried a couple of these and we love them. He could not find regular chile sauce at our grocery store, so he came home with chile/garlic and it was rather good. I made the recipe as quoted, put the meatballs in their sauce in a casserole dish into the fridge and plan to reheat in the oven. I'm looking forward to hearing what my guests have to say. Excellent recipe for cocktail/appetizer party.
