About this Cook
I am a 1st Generation Macedonian-American, born on March 5, 1960. Dad was from Macedonia, & Mom was from KY ( With roots further back in IN. ), & both are deceased. I am Single, & have 2, younger, Sisters, who I am quite proud of. Being a Blogger I fancy myself something of an Amateur Writer, Journalist, & Commentator on the world around me, & the world at large. I am owned by my Cat, Nikita, born in 1998, & he is my Boon Companion, well behaved roommate, & co-Blogger. :-D I am a Recreational Road Cyclist, & Commuter. I grew up in the Pomona Valley, & Inland Empire Region of Southern Ca., & moved to Orange County, in Spring 2003. I have been online since 1998, & a Blogger since Spring 2002. I have a peculiar sense of humor, & a talent for creative writing ( Short stories, & poetry ). I enjoy Big Band, Clasical, Instrumental Jazz, & Swing Music. I am a former Reagan Democrat, recovering Ex-Liberal, & now Moderate Conservative Republican ( Since October 2003 ).
My favorite things to cook
Scrambled Egg Sandwiches with fixings of my choosing, Mac & Cheese with additional ingredients of my choosing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mother was a canner, and also made her own pies, and a killer tuna casserole, among other things. That was her tradition. MY tradition? Eagerly eating everything my Sainted Ma cooked up!
My cooking triumphs
I can scramble a mean egg, or 3, make a tasty mac & cheese casserole, and cook a pot roast!
My cooking tragedies
That I'm just now daring to try to cook more for myself than I have over the last 25 years.
