I didn't have any dates, but it still tasted delicious. I also added 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 1/3 cup applesauce (but not to replace oil). I don't usually cook with eggs either, so I just used egg replacer powder. I also added an icing that hardens and coloring raw sugar crystals! Yum!
