Me (Stephanie)
About this Cook
My name is Stephanie. I am a married mother of two small children who enjoys learning to cook new dishes from scratch. I am interested in learning to prepare as many unique dishes as possible so that I will always be able to prepare an exciting dish for my family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
Baked macaroni and cheese Holiday dressing Cakes Sweet Potato pie Pot roast Various appetizers Punches
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother never cooked very many things from scratch which is why I am inspired to learn to do so. I am trying to START a family tradition. Since I now have a daughter of my own, it is important to me to be able to pass recipes down to her.
My cooking triumphs
My sweet potaoto pie is always good, as is my macaroni and cheese which is said to be the cheesiest ever!
My cooking tragedies
Potato salad! Always sucks!

Caramel Oatmeal Pudding Cookies
While the mixture is super delicious, it is a big gloopy mess. The recipe has far too much liquid. After using almost an entire container of oats, I finally realized that nothing I did would absorb the liquid and help these cookies take shape. The recipe might work if you reduce the butter and milk by half and still add an extra cup or so of oats.

Country Pound Cake
I tried lots of recipes for the perfect pound cake and I finally found it! I omitted the lemon flavor and used fresh lemon juice instead. The cake came out perfect and my family loves it!

Crabby Deviled Eggs
This recipe was a nice variation of the tradional deviled egg recipe. The crab and Old Bay gave the eggs a unique flavor. I loved them but members of my family who love crab a bit less than me said they would have prefered regular deviled eggs.
