Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
We really enjoyed this. My 1 year old ate it really well. I followed the recipe exactly, except I forgot the sugar. Noticed it when Hubby was going back for seconds, so I added 1 Tbls then. Great either way. Didn't have any trouble with the sauce not thickening. I also ended up adding a cut up zuchinni with the chicken and chopped carrot - we love our veggies!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

The pie baked up well but I thought the nutmeg was a bit over powering. 7 yr old loved it but hubby didn't care for it.

Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
We really enjoyed these bread bowls but I thought that the outside should be a crispy instead of soft. I brushed the outside with egg white and reduced the sugar to 1/4 c. The flavor was great and we did not have any problems with them leaking. When I took out the "guts", I pressed the remaining insides to the edge to help reinforce the bowl. I served them with broccoli cheese soup which is thicker, don't think I would serve with a broth soup for fear of leaking.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
We loved the flavor and the crisp top crust, but it was VERY runny. Even after being completely cooled, it was very runny. I did add a little vanilla to the carmel and sprinkled the apples with cinnamon.

Orange Charlotte

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
I had a cold when I made this so I was not able to taste it very well, but my husband and kids really liked it. I used Cool Whip Lite instead of cream to cut down on the calories and fat and so I was able to omit the sugar needed to sweeten the cream. I also accidentally added a little extra lemon juice (I cut the recipe down but not the lemon juice). It set really quickly so we were able to enjoy it only a couple hours after making!

Pizza Dough II

We really enjoyed this recipe. It had great flavor. I did add a little garlic powder and Itallian seasoning. I prebaked the crust for about 8 minutes and then added my toppings and baked another 15 minutes.

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: May 16, 2007
This recipe saved me!!! I made another recipe similar to this one and it didn't turn slushy, it was jelloey. Luckily I made it a day before I needed it so I had a chance to do something else. This one turned out perfect. I halved the recipe, used cherry jello (cause that is what I had) and switched amounts of pineapple and orange juice because I didn't have enough pineapple juice because of the previous failed recipe. I don't know if I would have liked it any better the other way around. This will definatly be added to my favorite recipes!

Surprise Banana Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
Turned out really well. First time making a banana cake so I had nothing to compare to. I followed the recipe without the nuts and used 1 cup cake flour and 1 cup all purpose flour. Next time I will use all cake flour because it was still a little heavy like a light banana bread. Frosted with cream cheese frosting. Thanks!

Yummy!! They were so soft and chewy. The kids loved them. I didn't have enough of the mints so I did some plain and they still turned out great!

These were yummy. I think they would be a ton better with home made carmel. I wish the nouget was a little heavier but over all, they were yummy!

These are SO good!! They are very rich, but delicous. We have nick named them "Ewey Gooey Bars". Everybody loved them. Even the hubby who is not too big on sweets had seconds! Said they had great flavor.

Monkey Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
This was okay. I probably wouldn't give it 3 stars, but my little 4 year old loved it. Probably because she thought it has real monkeys in it and that is "cool". I thought it was okay and so did my hubby. My 6 year old took 1 bite and said he hated it, and he is anything but a picky eater.

Vegetable Beef Soup II

This was tasty, although I thought it could use some pasta or rice to help thicken it up a little. I used all beef broth instead of the water. Great on a cold day with some nice warm home made bread.

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2005
I think these were a little bland. They could use a little season added to the cream cheese mixture as well as a little shredded cheese and that might help with the blandness, I also noticed that they were greasy, and not something that I could serve to guests.

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
Very good. I gave 4 stars because it wasn't quite what I was looking for, but it was very good. I left out the sugar, only used a pinch of ground cloves, added bay leaves, garlic and cajun seasoning to spice it up a bit. I threw it all in the blender and then added it to the roux. I found that mine made only 3-4 servings instead of 6 and like others said, the prep time is more like 20 minutes.

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2005
Very Yummy!! The hubby loved it (and so did I). I used only a dash of nutmeg, 1/2 cup of the orange juice, 1 1/2 cups sugar, and 2 Tbls cornstarch. It still came out soupy. Next time I will use only 1/4 cup OJ and add another 1-2 Tbls cornstarch to help thicken it up more. I did grease my pan because some had trouble with the crust sticking and it came out perfect. This is a definate keeper. Thank you for sharing!

Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2005
This was my first time ever baking with rhubarb, or even tasting it. So I didn't know what to expect. I found that the filling wasnt quite enough, but other than that, the recipe was good. I gave it 3 stars, not because of the recipe, but I am undecided about rhubarb.
