About this Cook
Growing up I always loved to be in the kitchen expermenting and nothing has changed. Now my little girl loves to help me cook - she says her job is the "taster girl", and is always VERY efficient!
My favorite things to cook
I have a weekness for deserts!! I also love Itallian, Mexican, soups and breads. I love trying new things and am happy cooking anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas candy and thanksgiving dinner!! I guess its a good thing they only come around once a year. :)
My cooking triumphs
I single handedly (well, almost. I did enlist the help of my then fiance) catered a luncheon of home made soups and rolls for 150 people with under 24 hour notice!! Luckily everything turned out the way it was supposed to. I had tons of compliments at the event and then the HR manager of the business said she was still getting compliments and praise for picking out such a good caterer for at least 2 weeks after! I did it all in my little home kitchen with no previous experiece!

Bread Bowls
We really enjoyed these bread bowls but I thought that the outside should be a crispy instead of soft. I brushed the outside with egg white and reduced the sugar to 1/4 c. The flavor was great and we did not have any problems with them leaking. When I took out the "guts", I pressed the remaining insides to the edge to help reinforce the bowl. I served them with broccoli cheese soup which is thicker, don't think I would serve with a broth soup for fear of leaking.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie
We loved the flavor and the crisp top crust, but it was VERY runny. Even after being completely cooled, it was very runny. I did add a little vanilla to the carmel and sprinkled the apples with cinnamon.
