About this Cook
I am a 30 something mommy to our 3 kiddos and wife to my Husband of 14+ yrs. I love to cook and bake and have started my own blog "Mommy? I'm Hungry!" about family style recipes including MY photos of the finished recipes. I love to come here to find new recipes (you should see my stack of print outs!)
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook and bake just about anything. My most requested items for potlucks are Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles and Seven Layer Dip I.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Potato salad and rocky road. Every Christmas I make lots of different kinds of cookies!
My cooking triumphs
Since starting my food blog, I would say venturing out and trying new recipes I would never have before.
My cooking tragedies
Pie crusts. My oven hates them, but I am starting to win! I will also admit to having a tragedy this past Thanksgiving. I had stuck a turkey roulade in the oven to roast, then suddenly forgot to add the broth to the pan. Well cold liquid + hot pan does not mix, and it exploded in my oven!

Bow Tie Pasta with Sausage and Sweet Peppers
This was really easy and tasted great. I used gluten free sweet Italian sausage with a bell pepper & onion mix (a bought cut up & ready mix for fajitas). I actually cooked the onions with the sausage first, then added the bell peppers. I added in some salt & pepper, garlic, red pepper flakes and fresh basil. Tossed with gluten free penne for me, and regular for the family. Sprinkled in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for extra yumminess.

Ron's Grilled Shrimp
I went with the rave reviews here and decided to try this recipe as stated. The first time was for my birthday dinner but when the Mr. surprised the family with dinner out, I thought since someone else here commented that they left their overnight and they came out great, I'd be ok (even though I still worried). Boy they were NOT ok. Can you say Ceviche? That is what citrus juice does to seafood. It cooks it! They came out so tough and awful when he had them the next night. Weeks later, I thought I'd try again, but only gave it 30 minutes of marinated time. AGAIN! It came out tough and not so great, but the kids ate them. Sorry, this recipe is a fail for me.

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds
These were a hit! I saw these on Pinterest and had to try them. Just like a baked potato with all the fixings. I baked mine on parchment so they wouldn't stick and it worked perfect. I seasoned my potatoes with garlic, salt and pepper too. I forgot to flip them, but that didn't matter, they came out great anyways. This is a keeper! See more at Mommy? I'm Hungry! food blog.
