About this Cook
Besides cooking, I enjoy growing the food we eat! We're avid vegetable and herb gardeners eventually hoping to move to a hobby farm. I also love to play on the computer, art, music, travel and camping.
My favorite things to cook
I like trying new things! For whatever reason I most enjoy making appetizers and side dishes for family functions. My husband is the meat man, so dedicated he will stand in the snow for a freshly grilled steak! I also tend to take store bought canned goods and embellish them further (example: add fresh herbs, onions and mushrooms to canned pasta sauce).
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother is from the south. I've learned to make most of the old school dishes from her. Holidays over there are full of more foods than the 25-40 persons can eat!
My cooking triumphs
My coworkers didn't want to try my nacho dip, one of them said it looked like "cat food". But once a daring few took a bite, I bring it in for every potluck!
My cooking tragedies
Fast, easy and flavorful. I like a lot of garlic, onion, fresh herbs and other strong/spicy dashes!

Chili Cheese Dip V
I'm often asked to make this dip for fall and winter get-togethers. It's simple, cost effective, and very tasty!

Tuna Macaroni Salad
Very good flavor, and easily made. Makes an excellent lunch entree or dinner/potluck side dish. I used Seasoned Salt instead of regular Table Salt.

Super Sausage Gravy
Simple yet satisfying! Very tasty recipe. I added a little onion and garlic powders and a tad of fresh sage to taste the second time I made it ;)
