Green Beans with Almonds
used fresh green beans and a lot less butter. great basic recipe that makes eating greens much more pleasant than eating them straight. i.e. the lemon and toasted almonds make all the difference!

Italian Bread Bowls
i've reviewed many, many recipes from this website with much success, but no so much with this recipe. i was tempted to stop adding flour at 5 cups, but stayed true to the recipe instead. i ended up with biscuit-style bread that lacks flavor. had no trouble with rising or anything else. i timed everything so no variation can account for the not-so-great result. oh, well. on to a different recipe. good luck!

Banana Meatloaf
Traditional, it is not. But it absolutely fits the bill for an unusually good meal for those with a sense of adventure. I took the hint from other reviewers who said the style of food is Caribe and went with it. Rather than regular bread, I used cinnamon raisin bread in the meatloaf. As a side dish, I served mashed sweet potatoes with pinch of cinammon and brown sugar and an array of fruits like pomegranate, mango, and asian pear. There was no need to add egg, milk, or butter to any part of the meal. Fun, different, highly recommended.
