About this Cook
Married Fat Man with a couple of dogs and a wonderful wife who's only flaw is her choice of life partners!
My favorite things to cook
I love a nice spicy dish that is full of simple flavors! While nothting beats a great steak, my all time favorite dish is meatloaf made with corn bread crumbs instead of bread and stuffed with Pablano peppers and onions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I tried to help my wife and her father cook a Thankgiving turkey once. When asked how I could help, her father sent me to the store for a bunch of random items. When I retuned, I discovered two things; 1) we already had all that stuff and 2) Sometimes a dad just wants to be with his daughter. It was just about the sweetest thing I ever saw!
My cooking triumphs
No one likes a bragger, but my meatloaf did win an award! - at our Guide Dogs for the Blind puppy raiser meeting!
My cooking tragedies
Where to start? How about the time I started cooking with Indian spices and finished with Mexican spices? What a disaster! Another classic is the burgers I attempted to embelish that my children re-named "Dog Food" burgers. Funny thing is, even the dogs wouldn't eat this slop!

Scallops with Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce
Nice recipe but 3 minutes per side for scallops is way too long! Scallops will cook in half that time or less.

Creole Seasoning Blend
Very good and thanks to other reviewers for suggesting this mix as a holiday gift. My bride has never enjoyed any of the store bought Creole mixes, but loved this combination. Very well done!

Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie II
Yum, Yum, Yum. I'm a real meat eater but this dish just made it into our weekly rotation. It is fabulous. Like others, I added some butter to the mashed spuds to flavor it up and used home made chicken broth to really bump up the flavor. I love this dish and would serve it to company without hesitation.
