I resolve to host food theme parties for family and friends this year. My idea is to choose a theme each month, such as Italian, and ask guests to try cooking something new and bring their dish along to share with the group! Should be fun!!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking soups and stews the most. I love trying new recipes, especially Italian dishes and bread recipes, because it is so fulfilling to turn out delicious food after following a recipe and perhaps figuring out substitutions, new techniques, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have certain foods we enjoy for each holiday. I think it is important to keep food traditions alive each year plus homecooked meals help make the best memories.
My cooking triumphs
I figured out how to make zucchini bread. That recipe eluded me for years!! I remember my mom always brought home a Christmas zucchini loaf when I was little. I craved that taste for many years as an adult. Now I bake it every Christmas for my friends and family!
My cooking tragedies
About 20 years ago, I made a vegetable pot pie for a friend. He did his best to take it like a man and choke that pie down! Poor guy. He never seemed interested in my cooking after that.
