About this Cook
I was born in 1973 and I'm the youngest of three children. My love of cooking really wasn't fostered in childhood, my mom was the primary cook in the family and there weren't many opportunities to chip in with cooking. I really got into cooking in my late teens and early twenties. Right now I work full-time and have been working toward an appraisal certification for nearly four years. During that time, my hours became longer and longer and my cooking opportunities fewer and farther between. Now that I am reading the end of my training period, I am going to make a point to cook more often for myself and my fiancee. We have a a four-legged baby, named Bear.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make soups and home made pizza. I have finally found a crust that I really like to make. Really though, I like cooking just about anything, I love to unwind by cooking after a long day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mmmmmmm. My Mom's spaghetti and meat sauce! We used to have it every Wednesday night until they moved away. It was the best!

Getting home made pizza to just the right crispness!
My cooking tragedies
One of my specialties and favorite things to make are soups. Well, I was a newlywed and very naive, I decided to make a slow-cooker soup. Everything worked out fine, except, I made the mistake of putting the pasta in when I put everything else in. I can tell you, pasta is not meant to cook for 8 hours! We ended up having Burger King that night!
