Easy Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Very good! It is fun to tweak this based on your own taste. I needed 24 sandwiches. I used caramel and fudge sauce, as well as crushed Heath bars to put in between layers and on top. I purchased all ingredients at Aldi (except Heath) so it was very affordable!

Cannellini Bean Salad

I made the recipe as stated and I thought it was missing something. I ended up adding a clove of garlic (minced) and enjoyed it a lot better. Definitely let these flavors meld for a day before serving.

Leftover Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
4 star rating only b/c I made some changes (based on others' reviews) to the original recipe that resulted in a 5 star rating: omitted cream of celery soup and onion soup mix, only used 8 oz sour cream, and added pinch of thyme. With the changes, it was EXCELLENT with smoked turkery breast! Will make again.

This is yummy! I didn't have coriander and didn't miss it. I took the advice of others and added some sour cream.

Indian Relish

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2005
This is a very good-tasting relish but I am giving it 4 stars because it really does stink up the house. I finely chopped the veggies using a food processor and simmered for an hour. I mixed about half of the relish with a block of cream cheese to make a spread and it tastes great! However, it tastes A LOT like the jalepeno jelly you can buy in the store. Just for sake of ease, I'll probably stick with my standby appetizer recipe of a block of cream cheese with jalepeno jelly on top spread on crackers.

Goat Cheese and Arugula over Penne

VERY good. I didn't change a thing. It would probably be just as good with not quite as much goat cheese. Definitely a keeper.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

So easy and good. It's a "regular" at our house. We like it with provolone cheese and roasted red peppers.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2003
WONDERFUL! I used a little more onion and garlic as previously suggested. I also made a few revisions to cut down a LITTLE on the fat. I reduced the amount of cheese and used 2 cups of Pepper Jack and 1/4 cup Parmasean instead of 3/4 lb. of Monterey Jack. Using light mayo and 1/3 less fat cream cheese didn't hurt the flavor or consistency at all! Will definitely make again!

I'm not a big fish eater but I LOVE this recipe! I've made it several times now. When I don't have a tomato on hand I just substitute a can of diced tomatos and its just as yummy.

Grilled Strip Steaks with Horseradish Guacamole

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2003
Yummy! I marinated the steaks in Chipotle Tobasco and it worked great. I ate the horseradish guac on my steak and loved it. My husband doesn't like to "cover up the flavor of his steak" so he just ate it with tortilla chips and it was just as yummy!

Marinade for Chicken

My husband and I really enjoyed this recipe. I cut it in half and it was still enough to marinate 4 breasts. I didn't have any wine vinegar on hand so I used apple cider vinegar and it was still tastey!

Super Hot Cereal Mix

I doubled the amount of brown sugar. I also added chopped roasted pecans. To do this, I put the pecans on a cookie sheet and cooked them at 350 for about 8 minutes. I filled quart baggies, put them in a cute bowl and wrapped all with cellophane to give away as a Christmas gift. Looked cute!
