About this Cook
Married Mom of two children and two canines. I am a gardening expert - flowers, herbs, veggies.....everything! Organic is all I grow for the health of my family and the planet.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Mexican, Marinated chicken, Cinnamon Rolls, Crab Rangoons, Breakfast
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies! Old fashioned cut outs are the only way to go with the family.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that involves yeast is a triumph! :)
My cooking tragedies
Making a red potato casserole that required parboiling the potatoes.....I overcooked them so the casserole was mush. I can't grill a steak to save my soul. I once also forgot the eggs in a bundt cake. Looked fabulous, tasted horrible.

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup
Very good! I made as written and we all enjoyed it. Next time I will cook this in the crockpot on low for 6-8 hours and add 1 or 2 Tbs Garam Masala for some kick. A keeper!

Catherine's Pickled Blueberries
I made this as written only doubled - FANTASTIC! I would give it more stars if I could. For canning, I doubled the recipe and got 14 half pints. The syrup thickened up just fine (shouldn't be like the thickness of jam - should be thinner) as it will thicken even further upon standing in the jars. These will make great gifts with some local Goat cheese. I am indebted to Catherine and foodelicious!

Emily's Strawberry Balsamic Salad
DELISH!!!!! I made no changes at all. The dressing is excellent by itself on lettuce etc as well. Thanks!
